I'm surrounded by my precipitate 40s and have first mammogram?

and it hurt like hell. My grill is, is it harmful to enjoy this exam during the time my breasts are so tender (right before my period)? And the compression of the breast can't be devout on the breast tissues.

Answer:
I have never hear any reliable studies or information backing up the notion that compression can harm breast tissue. But, the worst time to catch a mammogram is when the breasts are tender. Mammography can be painful within this situation. Next year, remember this and schedule your mammogram for after you enjoy ended your length. Over the counter pain reliever can be used. Also, some services recommend that you limit your caffine intake (soda, coffee, tea etc) for a few days prior to your mammogram if breast discomfort is an issue for you. I am sorry you had such a impossible experience.
I don't think so
?? Kidding? There are unbroken lifestyle that does that for fun.
It is not harmful to hold it when your breast are tender and it is not a problem to compress the breast tissues. Since you said it hurt like hell you should hold told the technician this. It should not "hurt like hell". It is not pleasant but doesn't hurt resembling that.
next time, keep on till your breast aren't tender before going contained by for one.
I can empathize next to you on that. I have seriously of breast cancer in my family connections and have be getting them since I was 32 years feeble. I have read some controversial articles on whether the compression can be insanitary or not to the breast tissue. My advice is though. . . . .some anguish for a few minutes is far more worth it than having nought to compress any longer and being really disfigured and going shiny on top. The psychological pain of that is to say far worse than the few minutes of physical pain.
I am 24 and I have a mammogram last year. It be very self-conscious and a little throbbing, but mostly I was self-conscious from the procedure that was going on.

Breasts do gain sore around that time of the month, so I imagine that "squishing" them during this will hurt more. However, I don't assume it's bad for you.
I am a mammographer.

Next time (in 1-2 years, according to the American Cancer Society), programme your mammogram the week AFTER your period. That course, you won't be as uncomfortable. It may not hurt close to hell then, but it will still be mortified. The pain is not necessarily the breast "tissues" one squashed, but the swelling, and breast pain until that time menses is very adjectives.

Your comment about breast compression not anyone good on the breast tissues is unjustifiable. Believe me, I would be happy to retire tomorrow if they would find that mammography compression cause more harm than accurate. The opposite is true, if truth be told...the more compression you receive, the less the amount of radiation to the breast. There is smaller amount chance of repeat films because of motion or underexposure, too.
