Use of tampons?

If a virgin wants to use a tampon, wouldn't that aim that she would have to break her hymen? (Thus...that would hurt...profoundly...)

Breaking the hymen may not be a traumatic thing for most. Some break minus a female even knowing that it be broken. It doesn't hurt at all. Now when your friend starts have sex the first time that may be a different story all together. I utter go for the tampon, she may requirement to lubricate it the first few times but afterwards she will be good to shift. Good Luck.
There are smaller tampons specifically made for girls that may not be able to use the larger ones. If you're concerned look into getting those.
No your hymen have an opening surrounded by the center for a tampon and other things to pass through.
