Im worried that i have cancer?
Answer:
You need to go back to your doctor to get him to explain things to you. You may or may not have poly-cystic ovaries, but this doesn't mean that you have cancer.
There is some useful info here. http://www.womens-health.co.uk/pcos.asp...
Please don;t worry too much, your doctor will explain it all to you. Good luck.
No. You do not have Cancer.
it is very very unlikely you have anything bad like that
NO...you do not have cancer.
Polycystic ovaries is very common and can some times make it harder to have children but not impossible.
I know a few people with it and they have children.
Don't worry about cancer.
Ask your doctor to explain it in more detail to you.
The pill will help with symptoms.
if youre very hairy its obvious that youll have excessive hair, it doesnt mean your going to get cancer hon, youre worrying over nothing.
rediscuss this with your doctor and express your worries
i don't think it means you might have cancer but you would be better asking ur doctor to be sure
by putting you on the pill it will increase the oestrogen in ur body therefore balancing out the testosterone and should therefore help with the excess hair problem
one of the things with polycystic ovaries is that you are less fertile, however since your mum had children then you may be fine
here is a link with some info for you

It sounds like you have a good doctor who ordered the tests for you. He would not start you on birth control pills if he the slightest doubt that you have cancer of the ovaries. Try to relax and trust your doctor to make the right choices for you.
You must be so worried, but you mustn't be! First of all, your GP would be testing you immediately if he thought you had cancer.YOU DON'T
I believe you have an underactive throid. I had it too! It can give you excessive hair, mood swings, all the skin and hormone problems you mentioned and it is easily recified with tablets. You can have babies, and you will be 100% normal. I promise. the pill really helps. I have been on it for years and look at my photo.I didn't put on a pound, in fact I felt so much better I lost a stone without trying.
Take care babe, cheer up, I promise you will be fine xx

ps a little extra male hormone can protest you from female cancers like breast and cervical.so it's not a bad thing at all!
Polysistic ovaries is not cancer and has no link whatso ever to cancer so stop worrying, i have polysistic ovaries and have 5 healthy sons in fact I didnt even know I had it until I d had my third son I only found out when my periods stopped for a while, stop worrying about cancer and go out and enjoy yourself, if your doctor thought for 1 minute you had cancer he d be onto it!
Poly cystic ovaries have unfortunately become very very common in women today. If you spoke to friends and family you would probably be surprised to find that most people know someone who has it. it isnt ovarian cancer. your doctor is the best person to speak to about your fears- be very open about what your thinking and he will answer you questions and make you feel more confident.
ive found that different people have different symptoms- not everyone has all the common symptoms. the most common being excessive hair growth, being overweight, painful periods and some difficulty getting pregnant.
i have 3 friends who have currently, or did have poly cystic ovaries. my first friend used to have excruciating period and ovulation pain, infact she would be doubled over in pain. she was put on a strong version of the pill, and also had some kind of gynae procedure done at some point (the details i cant remember) to try and alleviate her pain. she was told that she would most likely need to use fertility treatment when she wanted to have children..however...s... fell pregnant accidentally!! and infact is about to give birth to her 3rd child. after the first baby all her symptoms disappeared- no more painful periods or ovulation!!
my 2nd friend, never had any symptoms, but had alot of difficulty getting pregnant. eventually she was diagnosed with Polycystic ovaries, and was put on fertility treament .....and now has had 2 kids!
my 3rd friend who has polycystic ovaries has also been having some probs getting pregnant and is currently on IVF also.
So the positive news is that even with the polycystic ovaries, women still can have children- i dont know what the stats are for this, but just from the 3 people i know, they appear pretty good!
Please stop worrying - I am not a doctor but, you have had a ultrasound that has shown nothing is untoward. Polycstic ovaries is not cancer and people do have children with this condition. Follow the advice given to you by your GP. The pill does not make everyone put on weight - it has never made me put on weight. Most people put on weight naturally over a period of 5 to 10 years - our bodies are always changing. Ovarian cancer is rare - you should be totally reassured that you have had a scan and your doctor has told you that your ovaries look perfectly normal. Relax
No you are not or rather least likely to have cancer from your symptoms no i highly doubt
i very much doubt that..stop worrying
nah - doesn't sound like cancer. sounds like you inherited your traits from your parents. you'll probably be just fine.
Peace+
Hi, i suffer with polycystic ovaries and i have a healthy little girl (4yrs) i still suffer with it now my last period was 19 weeks ago and its all due to polycystic ovaries. Its not nice but dont give up hope. I had a large cyst removed from my ovaries and for a couple of years things were fine, now they think they are back, just get regular check ups and try not to worry, if its meant to be it will.
