? for women regaurding the monthly cycle?

Does stress cause your period to be shorter than usual. It usually last 6 days w/ me and since I had my tubes tied I have had painful cramping but this time I only went 3 days. Any of you other girls have this same problem? I know I should probably go to the doctor but I hate going and would know what it could be before going.

Answer:
Yes, stress can cause irregularities with your period, including a shorter cycle. But if you're concerned, do see your doctor. It's best to know exactly what is going on.
anything can cause an abnormal period. stress is a big one. starting a new excersise regimin or a new vitamin. anything that you have changed in your routine like a sleep pattern can mess up your period.
Stress can change the length and amount of the menstrual flow, increasing or decreasing it in some women. Some women also report changes after tubal ligation.

No one really wants to go to the doctor, but persistant pain is a very good reason to get checked. At least call your physician and discuss the problem, as that call might be all it takes, not a visit. Guessing what's wrong is really not very helpful and only puts off finding out what the problem really is and fixing it.
Lots of different can cause absence of a period. Stress being a main one, not getting enough nutrients, weight loss, weight gain, exhaustion, etc. I'm pretty sure it's normal but if it lasts for 3-5 periods in a row you should talk to a doctor.
I had my tubes ties about 5 years ago and my periods have been all over the place since. I usually have one every three weeks or so and one month it will last for 7 days the next month 4. If its early it doesn't last as long as it does when its late. I miss being regular on the pill.
ummm
I HAD MY TUBES TIRD ALSO AND I USED TO GET CRAMPS BUT I NOW TAKE ALL NATURAL VITAMINS BUT YES STRESS CAN MAKE YOU MISS YOUR PIEROD OR MAKE IT LONG OR SHORT AND OR PAINFUL
I just went through this a couple months ago and it last about 2 days and im always regular then next month it was back on track. yes stress can cause it to slow down or even skip it. Lots of thiings make it happen but as long as you arent in pain now just wait to see what happens next month, if its not normal again then id say go to dr but till then dont stress on it. My tubes are tied too and i thought oh no can I be pregnant? I know 2 people that have theres tied and burned and snipped lol and they have 4 extra lil ones running around. but dont worry yourself. Maybe do talk to the dr tho about the cramping, mine use to cramp bad but after tubes tied i barely do. heres another secret uf you are usually on time i you can figure out the day or 2 before you start pop a motrin it will help the cramps but it has to be about 2 days before. I get migranes 2 days before so i take a dose of motrin and works great for the cramps. I readit somewere too dunno where tho sorry. Good luck hun.
