How can my daughter lose weight?

Shes 12 years old and 120 pounds..is this natural? She is 5'1''...how can she lose weight or is she ok to just stay how she is?

I suspect that if you are concerned, then there is something in it. Its difficult when there is so much rubbish around for kids today, and the pressures of being 12 these days is so much more than when I grew up in the 80s.

I think, if she finds something that she enjoys more than eating...something which gives her a sense of fullfillment and happiness, then the prob will sort itself out...

Try her in plenty of different activities after school, drama, arts, sports...whatever, also its the old basic advice.dont buy rubbish food...keep the fridge and cupboard full of whole foods and fruit. Three meals a day and fruit or small healthy snacks rarely.

Is she unhappy about her weight? Is it just puppy fat? Does she have friends?

You need to ask her how she feels about it, and then perhaps ask the doc.

She is about 15 pounds over weight... you can somewhat control what and how much she eats at that age. Start eating more healthy with her.
exercise!! try getting her do outdoor activities like swimming, cycling, maybe play tag. if she's eating more than u, make her eat less..
