The contraceptive pill would stabilise you, however it would do so by taking control of your hormones rather than sorting your own body functions. This may be the only alternative other than letting nature get on with it.
sounds weird but people actually sort them out by a full moon- well it has the tides all sorted so why not our bodies also- so find a quiet spot under a full moon!! you should google it im not sure how long u have to do it for
How long have you been having your periods as it can take a couple of years to get them regular. Your only young still so this could be a factor aswell
The pill should get them back to being monthly - this only disguises the problem though as its not a real bleed that you have but a withdrawel bleed.
Have you asked the doctor if there is a reason why they could be irregular and did he do any tests to see if there is a problem.
Try not to worry too much as its most likely that its your body trying to adjust to all the hormonal changes its going through and this can take awhile
