Well if you are having a pap done and any woman to be precise sexually active should they will put a speculum surrounded by you and open it to see your vagina and cerix. The speculum is a metal instrument that open and adjusts to your vagina. It is sort of uncomfortable but of late relax and it wont be so bad. Next they will swab the inside of the vagina to rob some cells and put it contained by the special liquid that test the cells. That is pretty much it.
a complete medical and sexual history, consult over your birth control options, altitude, weight, blood pressure...they will do a pelvic exam and appropriate a sample of cell (called a pap test) ...its uncomfy, but doesnt hurt...he/she will insert a finger in and surface around your tummy just to net sure your cervix and ovaries are ok...they will feel your breasts to trademark sure everyting is ok, and probably teach you how to do a self exam at home.
