Irregular period...?

past year my periods have been irregular and im sick of it. i wear tampons and wear 1 the day im saposed to start and when its time to change... no blood... some times it will be like for 2 or 3 days and i kno u arent saposed to wear them when ur not on ur period. but i wont use anything else and other times it will a day or 2 early... its summer now... but with school its so stressful. some times i'll have discharge a day or 2 before when im saposed to start and i'll think its my period and its just so stressful... ive had my period for 3 and a half years now... it went from slightly irregular to regular to now unregular again what can i do? ive heard birth control pills help. but i cant ask my mom that... she'll get the wrong idea from it and i'd feel like a **** going to the doctor for it

Answer:
There is no reason to worry. Your periods are just regulating. There are other reasons besides pregnancy why girls might have a late or missed period. These reasons include:
eating disorders,
excessive exercise,
travel, medications,
premature ovarian failure,
menstrual disorders,
breastfeeding,
birth control pills or hormonal drugs,
Illicit drug use,
stress,
hormonal problems,
changes in hormonal levels,
illness,
a diet that's too low in fat,
changes in sleep patterns or exercise,
or just a menstrual pattern that hasn't become regular yet.

Stress is the most common cause of a late period. It can take a while for a young woman's body to adjust to hormone changes and begin to "run" smoothly and regularly. She might have a light flow or a heavy flow, the length of the flow may vary, or her periods might be late. She might even skip some months. Most likely a young woman's periods and cycles will become more regular as she grows older.
the only thing that will help is birth control. it's not a big deal, there are a ton of girls on birth control for irregular periods.
check and see if ur area has a free health clinic of some sort. or a teen clinic or something like that. they usually offer free birth control with a consultation. if ur area has a department of human services, its the best place to start.
u also always wear superthin pantiesliner wen u think u have them.. its really thin u wont even know its there.. usually u get a warning sign.. like brownish discharge.. its just a little. so u know wen u should start wearing tampons..
