Terbutaline, med. used to stopped contractions? PLEASE HELP!!?
I own done some research on the drug, and have found sites that are from other women who enjoy used the drug and say they're babies have no problems. I have also found sites where on earth they link this drug to autism and several other abnormality in babies who's mothers took Terbutaline.
I hold yet to find one respectable medical site that clearly states that this drug is risk-free to use during pregnancy. It is actually not FDA approved, however, adjectives cases with children who hold allegedly suffered because of this drug have never be noted in the medical files.
My query, does any one have input on this medication or even any experience next to this medication?
This is what I was competent to find, can anyone else share anything they have found on it?
I am at a point where on earth I really feel that taking this medication is risky. Can anyone relate?
Answer:
Hi. I have to start on Terbuline/Brethine pill's with my later pregnancy at around 30 weeks. I had to clutch them every 4 hours! I too was have contractions that were not dilating my cervix but they still insisted I lug them. They also put me on Procardia. I also had to walk get IV fluids around once a week.
I get very shakey from taking the terbuline. I feel it is actually a breathing medication for asthmatic patients and population with breathing problems but it is said that it help slow or stop contractions.
My baby be born very nourishing! However he does infact have a developmental snag. My first child who I didn't have to pilfer any medication with be born with no problems. Yet my second is for a moment delayed. He started in Physical psychiatric therapy, speech therapy and developmantal intervention psychiatric therapy at around 20 months old. He is presently almost 4 yrs. and is almost 100% up to date on all his milestones presently. The therapy help a bunch. But we still don't know what caused this. Maybe in that was a connect to the terbuline.
I told my OBGYN that I did NOT want to take the teruline because it be not FDA approved and he flipped out on me and told me to find another OB. So I took it. But I only took it when the contractions get bad.
I know it is a strong thing to budge thru. I wish you the best and hope your kid is healthy & blissful!
If you are honestly concerned about it I would agree to your OB, and if you don't get the ansers you want/need, I would suggest finding a strange one. I know it is kind of deferred in your pregnancy to be doing this, but your OB isn't going to agree over your concerns with you in a minute, imagine how it will be when you do walk into labor and have concerns after. That's just my suggestion.
