Anyone else hearing of more cases of TSS (toxic shock syndrome)?

There have been two recent cases of TSS (toxix shock syndrome) from use of tampons recently..one in my own city and another about an hour away...the one girl here locally thought she was having flu symptons with fever and throwing up..she went to stand up and her eyes rolled back and she died right there leaving behind a heart broken husband and two small children..the other case also involved a young mother.is anyone else hearing of more cases like this recently?..please ladies..read the box and become aware of the symptoms.

Answer:
Toxic shock can occur at any time, not just from using tampons, and I have to say it is very rare these days. Them cases are rare and it is likely that they mis-used their tampons, e.g left them in after 8 hours even if advised not to, and stuff like that.
It is VERY important to read labels these days, even if you are sure you know what you're doing, otherwise you could end up being a victim.
no, but they scare me to death and back, and i never completely fill the tampons i use anyways, even the super light ones
No, but your really should use a tampon for more than 4 hours--hello bacteria build up! Septicemia, people are very ignorant
i am not qualified in anyway to answer this question...

but this is what i found when i googled
