What do we think about abortion, then?

I know there a lot on this website about abortion, but wheres the people who are for abortion? I am.
Im going to be in full time education for the next 6 years at least because im going to go through uni and teacher training, and ive got 2 years of college left..and if I got pregnant, I know i'd want it aborted. Im not religious, and im fed up with all these religious people forcing their views on abortion. During the first month, the baby is a lump of cells..we're made up of cells..whats a few extra cells to us?
And sperm and eggs are produced all the time..so they're not exactly as sacred as people make out.
I realise the option to give birth and then adopt is there..but why would I want to put my body through THAT much stress..before and after birth..only to give the baby away?
Abortion shouldnt be frowned upon. It should be an open option for young, scared girls.
So, what do you think?

Answer:
I am personally pro-choice because of my personal and scientific beliefs. However, I also don't think it's right to condemn people who DO think that the "lump of cells" is a human being because it does have potential. I do have a problem when people of either sides try to force their opinions on others in a harsh manner. And again, while I am pro-choice, there is a part of me that feels for the pro-life movement. I can only assume that if you are strongly pro-choice then abortion really does hurt your moral beliefs. So there can never be a happy positive -- either there is no abortion and people's bodily rights are infringed on, or there is abortion and people's moral and religious beliefs are infringed on. It's just deciding -- legally -- which is more important. I tend to go the body route myself.
well i agree with some of the things you say and disagree with some. abortion should be available when you need it, (rape or medical conditions) but it should not be a method of birth control for unresponsible people. i disagree with abortions if it is because your contraceptives didn't work. that's your fault because you knew the consequences before you did it and you accepted them.
I am pro-choice. I do not advocate abortion and by choice that means the choice to carry the baby and place it for adoption is there and also the choice to raise the baby. I believe abortion is something that only that woman can decide for herself and no I do not frown upon it. I think everyones life is different and those 3 options(abortion, adoption,or raise the baby) are a personal decision that the individual woman needs to decide on.
i can see your point but i still disagree and not because im religious but because if you abort you are killing a baby that whether you like it or not is part of you.also because abortions can be bad for you they can do it wrong and then in the future when you want a baby you might not be able to have one
I think you should never ask for child support later if you feel this way.

Why should the man pay child support? All he did was create a mass of cells, you are the one that created the baby.

Good Luck with that!

Interesting that some do not agree, how can you hold that on one hand it is not a child, but on the other want the man to pay? It can't work both ways.
Well first of its not about being religous. Religion is only a set of rules that people put out there. But why not ask ourselves what does God think of abortion. Yes, we do have a free will to do as we please. But along with that we have to go through the consequences of our actions. Life is sacred. Sperm and eggs are produced all the time, yes and the reason being is to bring forth life when these two meet. You call them "cells". But the fact is that a life a human being is formed, and if you do decide to be sexually active, keep in mind that theres always a possibilty of pregnancy. So be responsible for your actions. So what God created let it be.
I am one-million percent with you! Abortion needs not to be demonized. Women need to have the same control of their lives as men have and that means being able to deal with unwanted medical problems like pregnancy or unwanted fertility without any religious buggers messing with them. Any woman who takes control of her life and her destiny is all right by me.

Adopt strikes me as a waste of psychological, financial, and physical resources for the birth mother. Better to nip the problem in the bud instead.
You are absolutely correct in everything you've said here.

The people who are so vehemently against it see women as nothing more than mobile incubation units.
