Could I be approaching menopause?

My periods are shorter in duration than they have been in past years. Lasting about 2 days. My Mother started menopause at the age of 42. I will be 42 in September. I have no other symptoms so far. From your knowledge or experience, what do you think?

Yes you could be starting perimenopause. If you want to know for sure see your doc and have him test your hormone levels.
The term for this stage is the climateric. Menopause (as terminology) is not the right name. Menopause is the actual cessation of menses. My mother went through menopause early.
Yeah, it does sound like you are getting close.But I think the sooner we get it over with the better.
