How far out can ultrasounds be?

i have have 2 ultrasounds in the first trimester.i wasnt sure of how far gone i be i had lost a dutiful friend and thought i had missed my term due to stress and upset.i went to a clinic and took a pregnancy interview which was unenthusiastic and i would have be at least 6 weeks after conceiving if i get pregnant before the first missed term.went stern the week after as they said i could have be in immensely early pregnancy,it be positive.organised an early scan which said i be about 4 and a partially weeks.the next scan said i be 11 weeks 2 days which was inside a week correct of the first scan.what i am trying to say is could the ultrasound be much further out than this twice at such an untimely stage as in the newborn would be 4 or 5 weeks older than expected?sorry if this cross-examine is confusing tried to get adjectives info in!

Answer:
Ultrasound is relatively an accurate means of assessing obstetrics, that's one of the reason why it is used. The accuracy of the scan, as with everything else within life is worker dependent. The vast majority of sonographers are extremely competent but 5 weeks is a big difference. You entail to speak to someone because somethings a miss there. Get the sonographer or GP to explain what is going on because most of this 'misinformation' is other largely due to patients not fully understanding what is person said. Not the patients fault, it's a short time ago usually one of those things. You pregnancy is not in any risk because your baby will arrive when it is due, what is a concern next to such a big difference in time frame is that your 2nd trimester scan will be a month too early, which can be problematic, and manifestly when everyone thinks your due you will simply be 35 weeks. I really don't expect this too happen, but speak to someone as soon as you can love.

Yes what happen is an intial 'due date' is given from your last LMT, which contained by itself is accurate enough. From this, as you know, you are appointed a date for your first trimester. This is done usually at 10-12 weeks. It is here that your baby's measurments are taken (crown-rump length etc...) so during this scan the sonographer will know how to confirm just how far pregnant you are from his or her scan measurments. If you own been given a due date of Jan, and your babe was in actuality due in Dec, after there would be a massive problem. But the system is set up so these catastrophic mistakes are not made. I hope I am making myself clear, it can be not easy to do on here without speaking to you. This is why you should seize an appointment tomorrow with your GP and hold them explain it to you face-face. I'm sure the dates you hold been given are accurate but too be sure step to the doctors. Good Luck !!
my ultrasounds are bang on but thats because i know the date i concieved.

however, ive never heard of it individual as far wrong as 4 or five weeks, thats quite a long time pregnancy sage.

development would be at a different and more advanced stage so they would be capable of tell from that, i know ultrasounds can be out by a few weeks but iv never hear of one being as far out as 4 or 5 weeks

virtuous luck with the pregnancy xx
