Help!! Confused about the pill!!?

Help!! I have just finished my 1st packet of pills and so are on my 7 day break. The thing is, i go on holiday on Sunday 15th July and i was wondering, will i definitly have a period in my 7 day break or should i take 2 packets straight?? but i dont want any spotting, especially when i'm in the pool! i also had a little bit of spotting on Friday 6th, could this mean it's getting ready to have a period?

I'm very confused!

Answer:
In the first 3 months, there may be some spotting due to your body adjusting to the pill. You may back-to-back 2 months, but you still may get some spotting, its not guarenteed unfortunatley.

May I suugest you have this break and start your next packet as normal. I found that after the first 2 days of the pills the period stopped. If your on a break now, then that would mean the first 2 days of the new pack of pills will be 2 days into holiday at max, meaning you'll get some time to relax and enjoy the rest of the holiday.

As I said back-to-backing can still give you spotting throughout till you have a proper 7 day break. I'd rather take it properly and it stopping whilst on the first 2 days of my holiday than possibly be spotting throught the whole holiday.
Nothing is for sure, especially if you just took your first pack sweetie but it will work out. The spotting is nothing to worry about but if it continues it may mean you need a change in strength that's all. Give this one another month or so and if spotting is still a problem go and see the doctor and tell him/her and they will resolve it for you. A bit of spotting does not mean you are going to get your period either. It probably, like i said is because this was your first pack but if you do get a full one then phone or go to the doctor right away for the right strength. Please remember, as i am sure you were told, not to rely on the first use of the pill ok. It takes a little time for your body to adjust. You could also call your pharmacist as they are very helpful.
if you are already on the 7 day break, here is what you do. instead of a full 7 day break, only break for 3-4 days and then start taking the second pack-one a day every day. you will have a shorter lighter period that will be finished by the time you leave for holiday.
Talk to you doctor about taking 2 packs of pills straight. I did it before during a vacation and I felt a little sick...almost like I was on my period (felt bloated and crampy) except I didn't bleed.
You should always consult with your doctor before taking medication differently then what was perscribed to you.
The problem with JUST starting the pill is that it causes breakthrough bleeding while your body adjusts to the medicine. There's no way to stop it, and no way to know when it will happen. You definitely could take 2 packets straight, but there's no guarantee you won't spot OR have your period as normal. You could take the pill for a YEAR straight, it won't hurt your body at all, but your body will just need time to adjust. Look at the depot shot, people take that for years straight without ever having a period, so it's perfectly normal for women to do this - it happens all the time. My doc actually told me to take the pill for 3 months straight to help manage pain, so it's very common to do what you're proposing.
Your body really needs time to adjust to hormones like those that are in BCP's. Just take some tampons with you, then you can swim and not have to worry about it.
if u have finished your 1st packet thn go straight onto your second packet the next day after your last pill. You will more thn likely come on your period in your 7 day break. so yeh go straight onto your second pack. and the spotting doesnt necessarily mean you are going to come on your period.
it depends on your cycle. dont start your other packet straight away. i dont come on while im on my 7 day break, im on a few days before then. just take a pack of tampons! its all you can do. i was goin to do that when i was goin on holiday, so i asked my GP an all she said was grin an bare it.
after a few months, you'll find that you'll become regular and you'll find its stays the same until you come off the pill
dont worry,
