I have heard using a Tampon dosen't hurt. But every time I use one it hurts. Why is this.?

I have used them about three times, and every time it hurts really bad why is this? Is it true that you really get use to them, to wear they don't hurt at all? Am I doing some thing wrong? And why does it hurt more when I sit? PLEASE HELP. Thanks.

Answer:
maybe using tampon is not for you.
they can hurt if you aren't used to having anything else up there (i.e. sex) and also because you may be too dry. i'm not really sure what you can do to fix the dryness issue but it def should not hurt to put them in! it could be also that you are tensing up your pelvic muscles. relax, take a deep breath and see how it goes. make sure you push it all the way back too otherwise it can start coming out and feel uncomfortable too.
i don't know
Okay when you first start using tampons it is best to start with a small one, Tampax or Playtex makes a great one just for teens! Plus look at the brochure inside the box to look at recommended positions for inserting the tampons, If you don't get it up far enough before pushing the applicator it can hurt and be really uncomfortable. http://www.youngwomenshealth.org/tampon.
Here is a wonderful website to check out. Good Luck!
You are probably not be getting it far enough in there. Read the package instructions again and try standing up with one foot up on the toilet or edge of the bathtub. Sometimes you need to put it in at more of an angle than you would expect, so don't be afraid to try different angles. And really, try to relax... if your muscles are tense, it might keep the tampon from getting in far enough.
Hey gal

this is just a way your body is telling you that don't use a tampon. i would suggest you to use a pad instead. Pads are more safe conpared to tampons.

Condition related to tampon is "TSS" tampon shock syndrome....For myself i have never used a tampon in my 23 year life..i m pretty happy as i do bleed a lot and tampons can often cause other problems as well.

Take care
maybe in herts because you are putting it in rought . try to put it in gentle . and try to survive

sincerly,

Perhaps you're not pushing it in far enough, so that when you stand up you feel it (it's happened to me before). Also when you take it out, make sure that you've used it enough. Tampons aren't for everyone. Best of luck.
i think you should try playtex slim fits they are the only thing i can use it feels like there is nothing there make sure you insert it properly like when you are sitting on the toilet spread your legs and push it in an angel like towards your back and be sure to insert it all the way i hope my answer did not disgust you and please try the brand i suggested to you i am sure you will find that they are comfortable and work wonderful good luck ok
You may need to take a day when you aren't on your period and literally find your hole with your finger. Don't be afraid!. Then you know exactly where it is. Then when your period comes back on, try the tampon again, and don't be afraid to push it all the way in, it won't hurt. If you get resistance, you are either angled the wrong way or you aren't in the right place. But whatever you do, don't give up! PADS are the worst. Its like wearing a diaper and sitting in blood all day. Thats GROSS! once you go Tampon, you never go back!
sounds like you are not inserting them in far enough, esp if it hurts when you sit down.a tampon has 3 parts, the applicator which has the tampon inside, the stick end you push on, and the string hanging out the stick end.put your thumb and mid finger on the bottom end of the applicator, usually there are ridges there...insert until your fingers are touching your skin, use your index finger to push on the end of the stick to insert the tampon without moving your other fingers...there is plenty of room in there so stay calm and relaxed...if you are dry as in not bleeding much it may be a bit uncomfortable putting the applicator in and it can be uncomfortable taking a dry tampon out...but once it is in you should feel nothing at all...try again and good luck...
More than likely just don't it inserted far enough as others have said.
Your vagina is not straight up and down, it's actually at an angle. You're probably putting it in straight up and down which can be extremely painful.
