Starting your period?

I must say this sounds very odd to me.
Normally they say you'll get a period if you take progesterone for a while (like provera) and then stop taking it, unless you are turning menopausal. otherwise you should have bleedings when you stop taking the pill...
Did you test for the levels of LH (lutenizing hormone)? if so, check what value you get if you divide the number of the LH by those of your FSH. It it's larger than 2, you might have Polycystic Ovarian syndrome (PCOS).
Did they test also the level of prolactine and the thyroid hormones? if not, they should. It is important to check whether the pituitary gland and the thyroid are ok.
Are you over- or underweight?
Please make a list of the tests you have already done: that would help.
