Motivation for quitting smoking?

Hi everyone..I am going to be quitting smoking in a couple of days. I lately need some motivation so every time I stipulation a cig, I can read your posts and get over the inevitability. I am trying to do it cold turkey. (Please no disgusting posts about how my lungs are black, I will in truth like lately supportive words) Thank you.

well, i a short time ago wuit smoking recently after studying smoking contained by health class, so i muse i can halp you.

First of all, it singular takes 2 days to draw from all of the niccotine out of yuor system. So, remember you will with the sole purpose have to get the impression the need for one for two days.

Just devise about how much more stuff you can do, if you don't hold to always be thinking in the region of if you will be able to smoke.

Just hang on to busy for two days so you don't ahve to think roughly it. Or be with individuals that dont smoke. Go see a movie in theaters, thats two hours lacking a cig that you cant just take off from (the new harry potter movies coming out).

The only difficult factor of it being two days i found, be that i could go short a cig for two days, but soon after i would get stressed, and imediatly construe about how much better a cig would clear me feer. Thats why i sugested finding another stress releiving activity (try yoga, you touch amazing after).

I dont know about you, but thats the major reason i started smoking, for stress releif, next i just get hooked and loved.
But after i found yoga and kept busy, i havent smokes in four months.

the hospital come out with this trial thing to quit smoking, it's call shantex. it is supposed to make you quit surrounded by a week. i plan to quit too but, not yet. anyway, this stuff costs a 130 dollars.

I quit cold turkey 35 years ago this August. You can do it, too. Just remember -- you can't ever have another cigarette -- and believe of the wrinkles you won't get and the money you will rescue. One friend put the cost of her cigarettes into a jar each hours of daylight, and bought herself all kind of great things after just a month -- and that be when they were closely cheaper.
I found the site http://www.quitnet.org to be invaluable when I was quitting smoking. It's free, and they own very supportive forums. There is also a site call http://www.whyquit.com which is a little harder to look at (as far as heartbreaking stories beside accompanying photos) but it's a good dose of actuality. Your motivation has to come from inwardly though - benefits to health, nouns, social interaction all come into play. Good luck to you.

It's best to embezzle a week or two off from work when you quit (assuming you work). Spend as much time as possible within bed sleeping. If necessary, bring back sedatives somehow.
The first time is not the hardest. The second thru seventh days are. After this week of "hell" the second week slowly tapers bad as the nicotine slowly drains from your system.
The reason you should sleep like mad is because you won't crave while youre sleeping. The reason you shouldn't work is because the stress and boredom of your profession will make you wanna smoke more. Not to mention, you'll be terrifically crabby :)
After week two, you will only hold the usual oral fixation withdrawals, not chemical withdrawal. The former withdrawals will concluding for years, but are quite managable. The chemical withdrawal are mercifully short-lived but are the worse.
Keep track of how much money you saved after a year, and buy yourself something awesome.

I quit smoking 11 years ago but, it be fairly unproblematic for me as I was getting nicotine flushes and such so, I be ready. One big factor to smoking addiction (among adjectives the others) is the psychological factor. You will find that, when you do those activities, during or after which, you used to enjoy a cig. your cravings will be huge. Say, after a meal, while drinking coffee, probably while driving or out for drinks. A support system will help deeply. People who don't smoke but, aren't "preachy" about it will be best. Try to enjoy distracting activities, next to that support system in place, during those "craving trigger times", and that will facilitate. Once you get to the point where on earth the smell of a cig is unpleasant (if you get at hand, some never do) you will be a non-smoker. Good luck!
As for your specific request for motivation... if you have kids who look to you for example (be they your own children or member of your extended family or friends) you will provide them a well-mannered example and, 1. prevent them from inhaling second hand smoke from your way and 2. Be there to see them grow up and live their lives.
My motivation, decades ago, be that a college buddy of mine bet me $10.00 I couldn't quit for a week. Well, in college, some of us don't hold much free spending money, and back next, 10 bucks was a impressively nice sum, especially for "poor college student", and there be this girl I met that I wanted to help yourself to out, but I had no money, and no sports car. Well, I quit for a week and got the 10 bucks, and she volunteered the use of her saloon that her daddy had bought her to walk to college with, so, we go to the first running of the then enormously popular movie "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid", and bought popcorn and cokes and maybe candy for both of us, AND go to Sonic hamburber drive-in afterwards, all for a dignified total of $10.03. So, I spent, out-of-pocket, 3 cents for that date, to the woman I later married. Was a damnn nice experience, and have been, for 35 years and two kids very soon. Oh, and I haven't smoked since the time of the bet, so imagine how much money I've save over the years. Cigarettes were selling at roughly 25 cents a pack then. Now look at the price. God Bless you.
I quit smoking right back Christmas last year... It's strong, but Now I can run a 6 1/2 min mile (I practiced, of course) and my fingers aren't yellow,and I can essence the pizza i'm eating in a minute, the smoking ban doesn't effect me, and girls who don't close to smokers like me in a minute (well at least some of them:) you can do it!!

Take it easy. Don't drive yourself crazy.

Chew gum to quench your oral fixation. Use the patch if you're going a pick a product to help you quit. It's the most tried-and-true conferral system. I don't recommend trying the gum or lozanges. Most people chew over these work better, but they're not as easy. Trust me on that. Follow the rota on the box of nicotine patches.

Even if you come to nothing, you still tried. And you learn closely from it. I don't know many serious smokers who quit on their first try.
It's dutiful that you have 'planned' to quit.

Once you quit and hold a few smoke free days under your belt, you will start to catch sight of changes: the food you chomp through will taste better, you'll own more energy, you will sleep better and your fleece will smell fantastic! You have closely to look forward to! Buy some shampoo that you love the smell of :)

Remember that the longer you go in need smoking, the easier it will be to get through the afternoon without a cigarette and you freshly have to hold on to reminding yourself of that.

When you get to time 3 and you really, really want a cigarette - DON'T DO IT!! It takes a while to procure all of the chemicals out of your body and if you do impart in to a craving, you are setting yourself stern to the beginning.
