Why should I avoid alcohol when taking cold and flu medication?
Answer:
Anything used within excess is a liver-melter. If by "wee nip" you mean 1-2 oz, the brandy shouldn't be a big problem- I markedly wouldn't "nip" anything if you were taking prescription that DID make you tired though. The combination of two depressants wouldn't be a perfect thing.

Good luck, hope you be aware of better. And set up a humidifier or vaporizer by your bed if you have one.
it cause internal bleeding
Usually alcohol will make you sleepier, but contained by some cases it will adversely affect the liver. I would say better safe and sound than sorry! Also seeing as you are having an disparate reaction to the drug, alcohol is even more contra-indicated.
Any class of medicine and alchohol is not a moral combination. It is always best to follow the directions on the sign.
