Hearing issue?

I don't know why, but I'm very sensitive to loud, high-pitched noises, such as screams or whistles. This Friday, I was shopping, and this kid was crying, and I had this really piercing pain in my ears, it made my head ache really bad. People thought I was having a seizure. I've made a doctor's appointment, but I wonder, why am I like this? will it go away, and has anyone ever heard of this?

Answer:
You may be supersensitive to noise. My hearing is strange. I can hear someone whisper in the next room and hear every word, but if I have someone whisper anything to me in my presence I have a hard time hearing them. I don't get that one at all!
