What's the difference between a very high libido and a sex addiction?

Answer:
It's like someone who enjoys gambling and someone who is addicted to gambling.

I enjoy gambling. I don't gamble more than I have. I don't feel the need to be there. And I get enjoyment out of it. I can say no if I want to. It does not interfere with my life.

An addict gambles more than they can afford, they get no enjoyment from it, they feel the need to gamble, they can't say no, and it interferes with their life.

A nymphomaniac is the same as a gambling addict. There is no enjoyment. They simply go through the motions because it sates their compulsive need. They cannot function in normal life, even in a job, because they are too busy trying to fulfill the addiction.

Someone with a high sex drive wants to have sex daily if not several times a day, but they don't let it interfere with their job or friendships. They get enjoyment out of it.
whether or not you can deal with it.
the same
A true sex addict (see nymphomaniac) does not actually get much enjoyment out of sex. It's like a drug addict who gets high, not because it feels good, but because it makes the addict feel normal and because abstinence causes withdrawal.

A person with a very high libido still enjoys sex, but having lots of sex will eventually lead to the addiction and lack of enjoyment.
A person with a high libido can deal with it appropriately while a person with sex addiction tends to get into trouble with relationships, marriage, etc.
High libido is only the very high wish of wanting to have intercourse with someone, sex addiction is that you NEED to have intercourse to live and it becomes like a natural source, like water, food, and air ; you need it to be able to live
A high libido you're pretty ready to have sex all the time. :)Nothing wrong with that. Sex addiction, you HAVE to have sex. You base your worth on it in some cases. it's just like any other addiction. You're body needs it.
I would think the difference would have to do with the ability to control the urges. A person with a high libido would still be able to decline sex and would consider the appropriate time and place, etc. A person with a sex addiction cannot control it, just like any other addiction.
So called sex addicts don't care who what or where as long as they get some.
High libido one likes sex but isn't out of control as to who what and where.
