Possible broken/fractured wrist?
What do you think?
Answer:
A wrist wouldn't be jammed. It could be sprained, fractured (broken). If there is swelling and it hurts a lot to move it, I would certainly get it checked out. In the mean time, ice it as much as you can and if you are in pain, take tylenol or something. If you have an ace bandage lying around, or in a med kit, use it to compress your wrist.
Good luck!
If it swelled up a lot right a way and you can't move it without severe pain, then it's probably broken. But either way, you should see a doctor to make sure.
An x-ray wouldn't hurt. A little known fact is that breaks actually hurt less than sprains, so if you're not in serious pain it actually be a more serious injury than you think. I wouldn't run out to your local ER or anything unless you really want to. My advice to you is to elevate your wrist and ice it a little bit. If you find the pain intensifying, or you don't feel any better in the morning, maybe get into your general practitioner for a quick x-ray. Good Luck.
can you move it up and down then side to side
does it have an abnormal shape. compare with the other
pinch your fongernaols to turn white when you let go they should turn pink right away.
if you answered yes to all these put ice on it to minimise swelling
if you answered no to any of these go to the dr. today.
no ambulance is required since you are reading this, have someone drive you to the er. for an xray.
