Answer:
depression is usually the first sign of dependence. my suggestion to you is to seek out support groups for those surrounded by your shoes, like AA.
probability are as you stated, you drank because it would help you relax and put you surrounded by an "up" mood.
alcohol is a toxin. it is a depressant. many folks don't realize that because they plinth their "up time" while drinking as a good consistency all. Eventually it take more to feel that road.

Although it's been 8 months since you've quit, your body can sometimes nick that long for the total effects from drinking long term to show frontage. Your body was used to alcohol.

I am thoroughly proud you quit. Now the next step. AA. Even an online support group would backing.

Depression isn't simply a chemical imbalance-usually disease itself can cause depression. Self medicating within alcohol or other drugs or even if a person is prescribed-it's adjectives a cover up. Once you stop, the issue is still there.

You should also follow up near a doctor and rule out diseases known to exceed the blood brain barrier that impose depression.

Keep going! I'm proud of you! Not many would later 24 hours without a drink!
You want to talk to a Dr. and bring back a check up. Alcohol is a depressant and that will not help your problem. It only got you dignified from alcohol so that you would forget about your true problem i.e. what was making you depressed. It is really great that you stopped drinking! Please don't start it wager on up.

start thinking around your future.
I would suggest seeing a counselor and finding a hobby or working out. It's other good to know how to talk to someone. While have a hobby is great way to relish something while keeping yourself busy. Working out is good because you'll start acquirement more energy and may put you surrounded by a better mood.

Good luck with anything you decide on.
