Getting my Tonsils Taken Out?
Answer:
don't worry, i had mine taken out in march and it isn't that bad. calm down, it's not a big surgery, and its common so the doctor has done this plenty of times. it takes about an hour including by the time you wake up & you can leave the same day.
don't try to talk when you get up, it'll be sore. also don't drink dairy the same day, it may upset your stomach, drink lots of juice. don't by popsicles with actual fruit in it. like the breyers that have the "made with real fruit juice" thing, their good, yes..but they can sting a bit.
eat tons of ice cream, but only ones with no peices in it, like no cookies & cream/rocky road, etc. after about 5-6 days, depending how you feel, you can have mac & cheese. but make sure its not spicy (if you add hot sauce/anything to it..i don't but others do) because that can also sting.
it's not bad, and everything will go fine.
if you start getting really nervous day of the surgery, tell the nurse and she'll give you a pill that puts you to sleep & next thing you know, you'll be waking up.
that's a lot of stuff, but i hope it helps!
Getting your tonsils out are a piece of cake. Of course, the older you are, the harder any surgery is. One way to relax is to read about it, and get as much knowledge as you can. The more you know, the better you will feel.
Good Luck!
