Do I need extra liver tests?

My mother died with Hepatocellular carcinoma due to cirrhosis. My father has told me this is due to paracetamol poisoning (which I assumed was a regular dose for arthritis but am beginning to have my doubts now). I have been diagnosed with FMS and my sister has ME, both something to do with immunity, from what I have been led to believe. I am considering trying to get my doctor to get me in for a HFE gene test. All previous function tests have been negative, but I believe this doesn't clear me of any liver problems. I have sufferered a while with fatigue, water retention and an inability to shake off excess mass from my abdomen.

Answer:
You can do the test fror hemochromatosis but I do not think you are at high risk of getting hepatocellular carcinoma.
