Tonsillectomy at 16?
The subsequent day (the 18th) they sent me to attain it drained. This was worrisome and painful seeing how they used a syringe while i be wide awake.
I go back yesterday for a check up, and the doctor said that on a degree of 1-4 my tonsils are 3+. And he told me i need to carry them removed or else i'll newly get another abscess.

How bad Will the Pain be?
What should i expect?
I really am upset to death so i want the truth, not candy coated.
Answer:
I be 18 when I had my tonsils out. The anaesthetic worked impeccably. Because it is a quick operation you recuperate from the anaesthetic very summarily. I won't tell you your throat won't hurt because it will!! For the first couple of days soft soothing food is best and it is a really flawless excuse to eat ice-cream. Don't verbs about it, for a few days of discomfort you will enjoy a lifetime without a sore throat.
IS THIS A QUESTION OR SOMETHING TO SHARE WIT US??
it won't hurt your be beneath an ansethetic... suprising they are removing them though because they protect you agaist alot of infections
your pain presently is about what you be aware of after. the med that they give ...versed...yeah wonderful..dull pain meds the day after...youllloose some mass..bc you wont be able to get through for a good 3-4 days
Gee I have mine out at 12 years of age and I'm still alive. You get lots of cold things to hold after the op to help soothe your throat. The distress will be as bad as what your experiencing presently with tonsillitis. I am very soon middle age and still living. Cheers and apposite luck.
I had my tonsils out when I be 25. I too was really afraid of the spasm. However, the pain be less intense than the tonsil infections I be getting regularly. The evening after my surgery, I was have eggs and toast and coffee! And I even smoked! (That was tons years ago!) The most pain be on the first day, but next to pain killer, that can be relieved. And you realize that the pain will halt each morning and that you'll never be as sore as when you had your infections. And I probably hurt more than I should because I be stupid enough to hold smoking right after the operation. After two days, the pain subsided. I be thrilled after that because I experienced very few sore throats. Before, I have about 7 bouts of tonsilitis a year - that be terrible! That hurt more than the spasm of the operation.
So don't worry. They put you to sleep. You grain nothing. When you rouse up, take throbbing killers, and delight in ice cream and popsicles!
Good luck to you.
I have my tonsils out at 21. Yeah they do protect against infection but if they are gonna keep getting infected themselves they are of no use to you.
If your throat hurts very soon its only gonna carry better. The anesthetic will work, you will not be aware and you will recover like lightning.
I was contained by a ward with girls younger than I and a couple of them refuse to eat claiming it be too sore. They got kept within. I gritted my teeth and ate my rice crispies. It sounds sore but really the quicker you get hindmost to eating afterward the quicker you'll treat. I was out within a couple of days. My fav was rice crispies and coco pops as they are soft adequate but also good for scrape off the after op rubbish that collects within your throat.
I can't stress enough, get through as soon as possible you will get better really prompt.
The best part something like it is you never have to enjoy tonsilitis ever again. I had it on and stale for 3 years before my op. I faded to 7st8lbs not moral for a girl 5ft6in.
Good luck, chin up and focus on the when your better not the whats gonna happen to catch there.
