How do youmake it easier to swallow pills?

I got these pills from my doctor and I told him I can't swallow them no matter how I try. I've tried with water and putting them with my food. I'm not sure if I can take the powder out of the pill and just have that with water. I just need some help.

Answer:
It really depends on the medication. Some capsules are NOT meant to be opened, because they might be a delayed-release form, or are meant to be dissolved in the intestine rather than the stomach. If you aren't sure, you should ask a pharmacist whether it is OK to open those particular capsules and sprinkle them into water or food (such as applesauce). It is NOT a good idea to try it without knowing for sure. You might get too much medicine into your system all at once, or it might not work at all.
put it in chocolate milk where u cant see the pill and then **drink the milk and dont think about the pill being in there** once u think about it you will stop yourself from swallowing it...or...use a reward system...ask ur girlfriend if she'll give u a bj if u do it...if u have one
Yes you can take the powder out of the pill if it is a gelcap. Some pill powder doesnt taste very good so I recommend putting the powder on top of a teaspoon of applesauce. If the pill isnt a capsule, you can mash the pill into a powder and then do it.
If your doctor can't seem to help you out, call the pharmacy that you frequent and see if there is a syrup or chewable tablet available. Have you tried with milk? I know it sounds silly, but sometimes you can't feel them go down with milk or chocolate milk. Hope they can help ya out.
My daughter has the same problem. have you tried a smooth creamy type of food that you swallow and not chew. Like yogurt or pudding? I would not advise taking the powder out of the pill..
UMM Y0U C0ULD TRY LiKE CRUSHiNG THE PiLL UP iN TiNY PiECES AND THEN PUT iT iN Y0UR BEVERAGE AND THEN DRiNK iT!
Oil the pill and set it aside. Try not to think about it.

At your meal, when you have already swallowed a few normal bites, tuck the next chewed bite in your cheek like a hamster,

toss the pill in your mouth and wash it down with a slug of water, be casual about it, try not to tense up...

swallow what is in your cheek to shove it down..
disolve it in water and or with your favorite juice that should do it. Also, it helps if you hold your breath for a few seconds.
Try swallowing them with pudding or any thing thick and creamy. i wouldn't take the powder out if it is a time release pill you would get to much dose to fast and it wouldn't last the full length of time that its meant for.
First some medication is not good for you to take out of the capsule or crush. It can cause stomach trouble because it is made to go farther through your system before the gel melts or the coated tablets dissolve.. Any way try eating a piece of banana and stick the pill in your mouth just as you go to swallow. Another thing is to put the pill toward the back of your tongue and when you go to drink tuck your chin down toward your chest and swallow. This helps open your throat more. Hope one of these helps.
Instead of drinking them down with water from a cup, fill a medium size plastic bottle with water 3/4 to the top of the brim. put the pill on the tip of your tongue and press it against the roof of your mouth. Have the water bottle ready, then tilt your head back and just take a gulp of water and swallow it in a motion as if you're really thirsty. This works for me - I take a daily vitamin that is in a capsule about an inch long, and that is the only thing that has helped me swallow the pill. I read somewhere that using a straw instead of drinking straight out of a cup is helpful, though to me it wasn't helpful when I tried, but you can try if you want. If they're the type of pills which you can break in half - you could split them into two parts with a knife (be careful when you do this) or split them up into 4 parts or as many as it would take for you to be comfortable with swallowing them one by one individually. I read some people here recommend for you to drink it with milk or other things, however, on the bottle of most pills it says to drink them only with water, so I don't know if you should try some other beverage with them. The most important thing is to not focus on the pill swallowing and just focus on drinking the water. It helps to do this when you're very thirsty, so if you know you'll be taking a pill, try not to drink water for 30 mins to an hour beforehand, since it will make you more thirsty and will help you take the pill with water later on. Good luck! If I can swallow my inch long vitamin capsules, I'm sure you can swallow your pills.
