Hair falling out - girl. Stress?
I heard that hair goes into a resting phase before falling out & now it seems like A LOT of my hair is falling out - way, way more than normal and it's totally scaring me. Should I be worried or is stress really enough to cause your hair to fall out?
Answer:
You need to stop worrying about it, and see a hair specialist. Don't focus on your hair, focus on what matters in life.
Yes this is normal, a large amount of stress, surgerys, medications hormones all of these can cause you to lose your hair for months. If it keeps up you need to see the doctor.
There are a few things I know of that can make a persons hair fall out. Weight loss, poor diet/unhealthy eating habits, post-pregnancy, some medications, and hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid- will also make you tired/fatigued, depressed). You may want to get your blood TSH levels checked if the other things listed don't fit. I don't believe stress alone would cause significant hair loss.
Every single hair stylist i have gone too has always told me that everyone looses a lot of hair everyday, and its totally normal. This is always in response to my answer to their question about what kind of shampoo I use...which is Loreal Vive. Maybe I am imagining it, but I feel that whenever I am using that brand of shampoo I don't loose as much hair as I do when I use any other type, even expensive types.
Seeing from your name, you worry too much. I completely understand! My hair is falling out too...and I've gotten this kind of bald spot on my head...its pretty sad. I noticed this a few months after I got my first job, and I was sooooo stressed. So, that might be one of the main reasons. Another thing, I get serious cramps...so I take 2 Aleve tablets. Aleve has a rare side effect- hairloss (it might just be me, I've had bad reactions to it). Well anyways, just try and relax and see what happens. Good luck!
Badly damaged hair breaks at the scalp. To treat hair loss apply a little lemon juice with some black tea. Massage well and shampoo.Rub oil into the scalp. Wring out a towel in hot water and wrap it on the head. Keep it on for 15 minutes. Shampoo and dry well. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/... for more info.
