Why is the standard of English GPs surgeries and the standard of assistance offered the GP's themselves so poor?

Personal experience has made me so dispondent, I don't even bother going to my doctor, I turn to a drop in clinic (a topical NHS centre) in a adjacent borough.
I am supposed to take my son to child strength clinic at my GPs but the place is always full, it's too small for it's purpose and it isn't somewhere I would really similar to to take him anyway.
I go to 3 other surgeries in the nouns to check them out, they are all as doomed to failure as each other.
I checked out the recitation thing on the NHS website for the PCT abd it said 'POOR'. Why do we hold to put up with this sub-standard precision?

Answer:
Coming from the other side of things, as a working practice nurse, I have to enunciate I completely agree with you. But PLEASE don't blame your GP, or their staff, they are trying their best to assistance their patients in these conditions. The policy has put a HUGE amount of pressure on us to gather round targets, cut down on waiting times, etc etc, and if we don't assemble their unachieveable standards, we don't get funding. GP's can't afford the staff they requirement to provide a good service, we're disallowed to book patient appointments contained by advance, we can't afford adjectives the equipment we need. I ponder though that the NHS in standard is suffering with duplicate problem, not enough funding and too much pressure. Every daytime we prescribe medications that cost more or less 3 times more than the lb6.50 presription charge, and the difference in cost comes out of our budget. The NHS is still a free service, adjectives be it a very expensive one!
Well the angelic thing is that it's free - don't knock that. The bleak thing is that you aren't the paying customer, the elected representatives is. GPs get remunerated for the number of patients registered to them. So the more patients registered, the more they get salaried. There is no incentive for them to spend time with you. Every time you pop in you are a nuisance.
I'm lucky my doctor have a purpose built surgery, Mornings are first come first served afternoons are by appointment. My one niggle is no Saturday mornings, but you can not have everything. I own not needed to nickname a doctor out in an emergency thank God
i enjoy noticed how unpromising my doctors surgery has become.

in attendance are too many patients at my doctors and if you want to see the chief doctor there is a three week waiting enumerate and you are only allowed to sort an appointment two weeks in finance so in other words you cant.

I too own give up on my surgery I own been in poor health with a chest infection for 4 weeks and I would a bit go to the chemist afterwards try to get an appointment
You should hold been around 50 years ago! You surmise they're bad very soon?
Imagine a smallish private house - brown painted wallpaper in the waiting room - table which have seen better days contained by the middle with copies of Punch magazine which be several years out of date. Not a equivalent seat but closely of people are standing anyway. No receptionist. No appointment system. No W.C. You any walk contained by and count the number of glum people arranged adjectives round the wall and try to reckon who was later in or you break the poisonous silence and ask tentatively, "Who was finishing in?" To which you may acquire a grunt from said person.
Shuffle into doctor, who more or smaller number says "Sit down, shut up. I'm the doctor and I'll put in the picture you what's wrong with you".
Pregnant? No blood test, scans not be invented. Weigh yourself on a public scale and give an account doc what your weight is.
If you look at us elder folk in the modern surgeries at the moment and we look happy, it's because we feel the facilities are wonderful and our GPs will in actual fact explain things to us.
