If patients are well enough to go for a smoke outside Hospital doorways...?
Answer:
i agree 100%
I see patients outside my local hospital, pushing drip stands, carrying drains, even pregnant women.
Next stop you see some with no legs, amputated for gangreen due to claulication of their arteries.
If their arms were the first to go that would still not stop them Stupid stupid people, how can they afford the price of the stupit weed?
This is a very good question...You often see this at hospitals and thats with all the no smoking signs around...It does make you wonder though ...
i have seen dying men having a smoke .it is an addiction and some are gone so far you cannot discriminate
you dont need to be throwing up and bed ridden to be sick... there are such illnesses that dont hurt, eg cancer.
why dont you let the hospital decide who should and shouldnt be there.
have a smashing weekend
I take it youre not a smoker then? Lol
have you ever been in hospital? Its so boring it would make someone start to smoke to give them summat to do !
Anyway, most hospitals now have a policy of no smoking in the grounds so you have to walk a mile to a public park to get a ***, you wouldnt want to do that dragging drips and drains along with you.
How pathetic.
I don't agree with that at all. Smoking is an addiction. And it doesn't matter where you are. Even if your in the hospital some people just can't quit smoking. Like my husbands grandmother she was diagnosed with bone marrow and bone cancer and she still smoked. As soon as she got strong enough to walk she sure did walk out that door and go smoke. So you can't send people home just because they get up to smoke. So I guess we should send them home if they get up to take a shower or something.
not really.
People go into hospital for all different things. Some patients go into hospital for things that would not be effected by weather they smoke or not, for example, I went in to hospital a couple of years ago with extrema stomach pains and my local GP refereed me i was in hospital for 1 week and they could not find what the problem was but it would not of mattered weather i smoked or not so i did do and they said there was not a problem with it so depending on why people are in hospital if your illness has nothing to do with you smoking i don't see why you should be sent home just because you smoke. Hospitals don't keep you in if it is nothing they think is serious because of the bed situation any way. Hope this has helped a little even if you don't agree.
Patients are also human beings. I have no sympathy for smoking but a fair bit for addicted smokers, we must be tolerant.
