Describe the Niacin Flushing effect?

I am interested in taking niacin, for my hair and skin, but I was wondering,What is flushing?Should I be scared of it?
Describe to me in detail the side effects of Niacin!

Sincerely,Speedy

Answer:
If you don't know what it is, it can scare the crap out of you. When it happens, you turn red, feel very hot and itch ( all over). Taking half an aspirin will make it go away. They recommend that you take it at bedtime.

I take prescription time release niacin and get the flush once and awhile. I don't know if over the counter doses would do that to you or not.
Flushing is when your body will heat up, sometimes itch. It doesn't last long, but there is flush free niacin.
