Does your stomach contents affect the extent of absorption of valium?

if i take valium after a big meal will the amount absorbed into my bloodstream be affected?

or should it be taken on an empty stomach?

Answer:
I believe it does affect it a little. Do whatever is recommended by your doctor or pharmacist.

Some medicines are recommended to be taken with food because they can destroy the insides of your stomach if there is no food in there to help with absorption. Other medicines are ok to take on an empty stomach so they can just go right into your system.

If you're taking it because you were prescribed it, and you need it, ask your doc or pharmacist (or it should have a little sticker on the bottle). Follow those instructions.

If you're taking it "for fun" then you need to be careful. Read up on what it can do to your stomach and your body, and be sure you're willing to accept those risks.
