Hiccups, why do they ocurr?

my daughter is suffering 3 days in a row none stop hiccups.

Answer:
Hiccups occur when a spasm contracts the diaphragm, a large sheet of muscle that separates the chest cavity from the abdominal cavity. This spasm causes an intake of breath that is suddenly stopped by the closure of the vocal cords (glottis). This closure causes the characteristic "hiccup" sound.

If you go to the website below on the source where I found this info. It also has What causes hiccups, how long do hiccups last?, How are hiccups treated?, && who is affected by hiccups. Hope this helps ♥

abrasions in the esophagus that trigger spasms. these abrasions can be caused by any sort of material or movement that occur in the esophagus.
They are usually because of not breathing properly or eating to fast. Usually if you take slow deep breaths and gently push in your abdomen right below your sternum you should be able to get rid of the pesky problem.
