What precisely is intended by "Gateway drug"?

What im wondering is does Marijuana actually explanation a physical need for other drugs, or is it a deceit. Something inbetween?

Answer:
Gateway drug

The gateway drug theory is the belief a lower classed drug can organize to the use subsequent abuse of "harder", more risky drugs. The term is also used to describe introductory experiences to addictive experiences. Some believe tobacco, alcohol, and marijuana are gateway drugs.

Some research suggests that serious drug abusers adopt an atypical drug use sequence beside use of other drugs initiated before marijuana or alcohol. There are several pharmacological similarities between various drugs of swearing. Individual social histories show that "hard" drug users do progress from one drug to another, but the reasons are not clear adequate to generalise a gateway.
it is referred to as a gateway drung because if often open the door to heavier drug use.
Weed, because all addict started with this drug.
Not so much a physical inevitability, but once you've tried it you are much more likely to experiment next to other drugs.
I don't think in attendance is much evidence that it causes a physical requirement, and most people who use marijuana do not be in motion on to other drugs, just approaching most people who drink occasionally do not become alcoholics, or try other drugs. What smoking marijuana can do is introduce you to the drug culture where on earth you might get tempt to try other drugs. But that is for the most part because it is illegal.

Think going on for this: almost all heroin addict started out life drinking milk. Does that plan milk is a gateway drug? There is a difference between a cause and a precedent.
No Marijuana does not lead to a physical need for other drugs. However, it does manufacture you enjoy the awareness of being on drugs and as a result more prone to trying out more addictive and risky drugs in the adjectives.
it is a drug that will get you into the world of drugs, some articulate that people resembling the feeling of human being high from weed, next sometimes they want a more intense feeling so they experiment next to different drugs and could lead to bigger addiction to stronger drugs.that's what i get out of it.
i haa drug that compliments another drug , i have a sneaking suspicion that its will bring you to 7th heaven...

perchance...its a hunch .
A gateway drug is like marijuana or alcohol, and once you try one drug that basically means you are predisposed to try other drugs. It is trrue that you would try pot before coke or anything resembling that. So its the least unfavourable so to speak of all drugs, which lead you to want to try others, doesnt necessaruily mean you will do it.
It doesn't produce a physical need for other drugs.

What it mode is that some people will try marijuana and approaching it. It's natural. But afterwards they'll think, Oh that wasn't bleak at all! I wonder what this one will do to me!

Some ethnic group think that it breaks the mental block on doing drugs. That once someone tries it, they'll want to try another.
It's not that the drugs create a physical or mental obligation for stronger drugs, it's that once a person uses a gateway drug, they are typically more potential to try a stronger drug, either out of curiosity or encouragement from those that share their infatuation.
weed is typically a "gateway" drug because it allows people to get going on their drugging journey and perceive more compelled to use harder drugs. it doesn't not cause a physical requirement for other drugs. it's kinda like, powerfully, i tried weed and that was fun so presently I'm going to try meth.
From what I understand a "gateway drug" is one that lead to other more extreme drugs. I think it's not that they sort a person crave a stronger drug, but once you try marijuana, you are more plausible to try other drugs, because they may feel similar to it's not a big deal, or they freshly enjoy the "high" and want to try something stronger to see if it's "better".
Hope that help.
Only stupid people permit themselves get addicted..to be exact all. If you don't want to be addicted to something...DONT ******* DO IT...that is to say all nearby is to it. People are addicted to their ideas of addiction, and in attendance are many variables when it comes to addiction, so respectively person have a different mind. I smoke weed, and have smoked weed every daylight for years now, and I hold tried some other things...but I have no desire to verbs my mind, drugs should be about experience and the expansion of ones own awareness..so yes, Marijuana is a gateway drug, because it teach you that SOME drugs, yes SOME, are good contained by MODERATION of course, and most are really unpromising. I would suggest Psillocybin Mushrooms, once you are like 20-21 or something..when you get the impression confidant in yourself as a voice. Be wise, smoke responsibly, don't steal, or do anything stupid. Addiction is different for each individual, because respectively handles addiction differently. Some will gun down for crack, some have the will power to kind themselves get addicted to some drugs, merely so they can see if they can quit...it is a mad world...so it is true that marijuana can be a gateway drug...but this is YOUR road...walk it yourself, lug advice when you call for, but DO NOT GET IN ANYONES WHITE VAN!
The real gateway drugs are nicotine and alcohol. It's terrifically, very sporadic that someone use illict drugs before those.

Even Rep. Mark Souder of IN, arguably the staunchest drug warrior within Congress and author of the highly punitive and discriminatory drug provision of the Higher Education Act, finally acknowledged this on Tucker Carlson quicker this year. But he still needed to hold on to the propaganda so he said alcohol and tobacco are the gateways to cannabis which is the gateway to the rest. Obviously, you can't have two gateways. Alcohol and tobacco are the gateways to illicit drugs.

As much as drug time of war proponents talk just about cannabis being negative and addictive, they ignore the reality that Controlled Substances Act definitons section make it clear you can't be addicted to it under the canon.
