Toning my legs on my bike?

I am buying a new bike today because I want to tone up my legs (mainly the thigh area). I am a womanly, so I know there must be SOME amount of overweight there... but not much. I work fundamental a forest preserve with dirt trails, so I am buying any a mountain bike or a trail bike.

If I ride at least 1 hour every year, how long will it be (estimate) before I start notice some serious results in more long, lean, toned thigh muscles?

You should start seeing results strictly quickly (in a week or so). Be sure to do mount climbing, that is best for your legs. Also, keep under surveillance what you eat/drink after exercising. No Alcohol, lots of protein.
It varies for everyone.

Usually you can expect to see some results inwardly a month. Serious results will take longer.
