Why is it common to get a headache after a long cry?
Answer:
Stress and tension that it causes on your body. Usually comes with stomach aches and sleeplessness too!
Make sure you do eat something little at least, it will make a difference!

Oh yes! I usually get bad headaches, sickness, and swollen eyes...lol...But seriously it happens everytime I let out a good cry.. If I cry to hard and I am very upset I sometimes cough and vomit...But I have to be emotional broken down for that.. Besides what ever is making you cry probably isn't worth your tears...Hang in there!!

A crying episode triggered by sadness or emotional distress may cause migraine headaches in some patients, according to a Texas researcher.
"Crying may be a common underrecognized migraine trigger," writes Dr. Randolph W. Evans of the University of Texas at Houston in the journal Headache.
But crying triggered by happiness, peeling onions, or a sad movie does not necessarily have the same effect, according to Evans.
About 85% of people who suffer from migraines can link their headaches to trigger factors, such as stress, certain foods, alcohol, hormonal changes or medications, Evans reported in the November/December issue of the journal. And in the case of at least two female patients, migraines have been triggered by crying.

Good one. I guess that, when you start crying, the pressure in your head starts growing up like mad! You feel your head bumping just like the heartbeats you hear in cartoons when an enemy is approaching. Your face gets all red and stuff. So, maybe, after your pressure is up for several minutes/hours, getting it back to normal may cause a head ache as everything gets back to normal.
