Does anyone know if, when you contact NHS Direct, and after giving them all your details, does your GP get to?

know you've contacted them?

Answer:
It depends on the level of care you receive: if you only ring for advice, then nothing is passed on, but if you require emergency treatment or advice involving another GP or hospital, then your own GP will be informed in case follow-up care is required and to update your medical record. If you wish to ring NHS Direct and remain anonymous, however, you can do so. See sites below.
