Can someone really be surrounded by a coma resembling contained by the soaps?

I know someone can be in a coma for years and eventually stir up. But I was wondering if someone can be contained by a coma for years without human being linked to any machines close to people are surrounded by the soaps sometimes and not be in hospital. Surely they would stipulation a drip attached or some kind of heart monitoring contraption?

While people can be within comas, they do not wake up approaching they do in the soaps. A comatose party requires nutrients like everyone else and is usually acceptance them from an I.V. for a short term coma or a tube device that go into the stomach or small intestine if their condition goes on for longer residence. Not all comatose folks require life support -- cardiac (special "tubes" or "lines" that do everything from keeping the heart working as best they are competent to monitors showing just how powerful they are doing) and/or respiratory (ventilator that makes the merciful breathe.) This is obviously a most complex issue as medical science can do so several things to support the "life" of various patients contained by various degree of coma. The hot button now is the "but should we?"
They do necessitate drips to keep them from dehydrating and to preserve nutrition in their systems.
