Sometimes when a person have been on a drug for too long, a sudden bill could send them into shock, a coma, or even slay them. They help restore the body's pure homeostasis and equilibrium. They also them as blockers, so if the person falls rotten the wagon and does the drug again, the medication will prevent their body from absorbing it, thus they won't take their "high" and will ultimately make them quit...or at lowest possible that is the perception.
They use drugs because the individual is too weak to jump it alone.
