I have Tonsillolith...?
Answer:
Tonsillolith or Tonsil stones are sometimes removed with q-tips, toothbrush, or waterpik (I hear is great), however this doesn't always work due in part to the gag reflex. Gargle daily and vigorously with salt water solution to help loosen calculi. No people can not catch it, its usually caused by a build up of food particles, bacteria, dead white cells or from excessive salivary secretions. Some people are more susceptible to them then others. The last resort is having a tonsillectomy, most times these little stones will dislodge over time. I don't know about getting rid of the sore throat but warm salt water should help ease it over time. Good luck.
