"You are what you eat" expresses that your health is only as good as the food you eat and drink. You can be a certain weight and maintain it by eating empty calories from sugar and fats or you can be the same weight and maintain it with a balanced diet. Your health will be better if you eat that balanced diet which not only gives you the calories you need for fuel, but also the vitamins and minerals you need and the fiber your body requires and the protien your muscles need. A bad diet will leave a person lethargic and weak and prone to heart disease, but a good diet will lead to more capacity for activity and will lead to a longer, more productive life.
