She is a student, but a month now she dropped out of university, quit working, and all she does is locked up her room. She refuse to see any doctors, even does not want to talk to her parents. When ask what we can do she in recent times wants to be alone. Right presently everyone is concerned and tryin to make sure she won't hurt herself. However this seem to make things worse, since she is extremely upset when people checkin on her every 5 minutes to trade name sure she is fine. She seems totally comfortable talkin on messenger/phone but very emotional when people come to see her within person. We tried to arrange and bring psycologist to confer to her, but she refused to come out of her room. We do not know what else to do, she insists she'll be fine if everyone leaves her completely alone for a week or so... I search internet to find out if there are some syndrome/depression state that have similar sypmtoms and how to deal beside it, but nothin definite cam out. If anyone know any websites, please help!
Answer:
My psychBA from '02 make me think Depression or sudden panic of people/being outside of comfortable environments (think Monk's brother, if you've seen the show). I recommend a phonescreen beside a trained psychologist/psychiatrist.
Oh man we have a pity gala on our hands. This is the correct method to handle this kid. Go within there, bring up to date her she best get her GD conduct yourself together, grow up and stop with the pity me sulking bull. Tell he she have a week to get over what ever her issue is, and procure back to duration. Leave the room closing the door behind you next to a slam. Leave her sulk. Discretely keep an eye on her, for your own right mind, but try to not let her know your concerned. By the wind up of the week, she'll come out of it. If you keep giving her the attention her silent tantrum is trying to attract, consequently your playing into her game.
