Can flea bites be dangerous to humans?
Answer:
They itch - and in the middle ages, it's fleas that spread plague. More of a nasty nuisance - you shouldn't suffer any ill health effects. The cat is probably miserable!
Ya'll need to get rid of them and get the cat some Frontline - you'll need to spray carpets and anywhere they are hiding, they breed fast - so don't wait to start getting rid of them.

Potentially - remember that the Bubonic Plague spread throughout the world via flea bites.
Just be really careful. Don't let her cat in your room. I know if you swallow a flea it can give you worms.
Keep an eye on the bumps to make sure they don't get too big, red, etc.
