Forget the PC and take this opportunity to read some pious books. Go to your local library or get a friend to move about for you and get some adventurer type of book. You might like the Andy Mcnab books as he is an ex SAS man and his bookes are really earthy contained by language beside some good plots.
Also you must try to do some exercises to hold your body toned as you are not able to amble properly. Otherwise you will get fatter and fatter and be useless after the plaster comes of.
