Why longevity is more for women than men-any specific reasons?

I have heard less stress could be a possible reason as well as something that estrogen does too.

This is true not only as we age, but before birth. More females survive to be born than males. With the on set of more women smoking this is changing though. Women are dying at a high rate equal or more than men from smoking. Basically, nature favors females survival to males in the womb. Too bad females have decided to change the natural favor by choosing to smoke!!

married men live longer than single men.
