My doctor's department denied me copies of my ultrasoulnd. I rewarded $20 for my accounts which included a piece of...
FYI - I am not lower than age & I live in Ohio
Answer:
Did you own your u/s done IN your doctor's office? Do they enjoy their own u/s machine in the doctor office? If specifically the case, they may not enjoy a hard copy of your pictures. U/s descriptions are put on laser (x-ray) film. Many doctor office do not have the laser printer or the experience of developing images (ie: dull room). It is amazing to me that doctor's offices can charge for a full u/s when they do a quarter of the scan and documentation that we do at an imaging center.
When you make your appt. beside your new doctor, engender them aware that you had an u/s done at the hoary doctor's office. They can send for and request the films, if there are any. When we do follow up OB u/s scan in my department, a paper report is unanimously sufficient for us. All we really need are the measurements so that we can check for interval growth. The single time we request the actual images done at another facility (for OB u/s only), is when an abnormality have been found within the fetus. I would be surprised if you need another ultrasound JUST because the similes of the old u/s are not available.
are you sure they hold copies? they probley have something to do beside insurrance but it does sound really atypical
Um! have you r spanking new Dr, send for the ultra nouns, If you lost it, it could not be replaced.
If you paid for adjectives of your record, that includes adjectives of your records. Due to the HIPPA privacy stroke, you have the right to reveiw, request or even amend your chart and or store. I would threaten them with trial action. That is not right.
ok here is the procedure.
when the doctor sends you for your ultrasound he lone gets a copy of the report of the guy who read it for him. what you have to do is travel to the clinic or hospital that performed the assessment and request the fims or whatever. below ohio state law they hold to give them to you. if the doctor did not do the interview he does not have the copies you call for he just have the report . go where on earth you took the test and they hold to give it to you no situation what. usually they will have you sign broadsheet where you are taking the films out lent. they will ask you to return them 30 days later.that is to say up to you what you do on that.they cannot charge you for the films...and that is reality ...any problems call the attorney generals department. oh yeah tell them you want the films for another doctor for second opinion. these doctors and hospitals are so greedy it is adjectives about money and not form anymore.
Its true, your new doctor desires to perform his own ultrasound. It is completely endorsed, and its a good choice for any doctor to variety. It is customary for your records to contain ONLY the radiology report, & NOT the films. There's nought shady going on here. good luck.
