I have gone through several glucose test. Some up to 6 hours long. They will draw blood every 30 or 60 minutes to see how your body's blood sugar levels transmute over time and how quickly your body uses the sugars within it's system.
55 is a low reading. If that was your reading, later it sounds like you could hold Hypoglycemia. I was diagnosed beside it about 15 years ago.
It may or may not affect your craft. There are different levels of severity, and respectively person is going to take action to their case differently.
