Just 1. Last year I was abuse alcohol. I drank to relieve stress, because I was/am obsessive & couldn't tolerate go of stressful issues. I drank a 6-pack per daytime during the week & half a liter of tequila Fri/Sat/Sun.
Then on November 1st, I started (Soto) Zen meditation & stopped drinking & adjectives the problems went away. I own been MUCH more serene since after, with no inclination to drink 234 days so far :-)
It's not much of a sacrifice - 30 minutes per hours of daylight.
BTW - if I miss meditation for a day or even 2, I DO grain the difference the next year. I become unsettled & just somewhat "off". But getting back to meditation & it's adjectives fine again.
Stress can arise for a variety of reason. Any change surrounded by our lives can be stressful. In dealing with stress, the lifestyle wants a complete overhaul.
