Severe mood swings?
Answer:
Did your doctor explain to you the nature and symptoms about your condition? Obviously, if you are diagnosed with a major depressive disorder, you are likely to see severe mood swings that you cannot explained. You find it hard to control the fact that you can be extremely happy one moment and the next, feel utter dispair.
The first step forward is to get educated about your condition.

time to go in and get the meds tweaked
You already know what's wrong. You have major depressive disorder and your behavior reflects that. If you are taking medication then you should start to see a "leveling off" of your emotions in several weeks. If you don't see any improvement then you need to have your meds switched or the dosage tweaked. best wishes
I have the same symptoms. But my diagnoses was bipolar, so now they have me on meds for the bipolar and depression. And my mood swings aren't nearly as severe as they were. It could be that this is the problem, and trust me I know how irritating it is.
Sounds like you may have been misdiagnosed and likely have bipolar. If this is the case, you need to contact you doctor immediately as the normal antidepressants can may your condition much worse.
