Is this unusual?
Answer:
It sounds like you have a condition called synesthesia/synaesthesia. It is involuntary (i.e. automatic), so you would think of it as normal. There are several different forms. Check out the wikipedia page for an overview(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/synesthesia... ) and then google it, you will finds lots of information! =)
thats awesome!!
but it doesn't happen to me
No, I have that too, sometimes. It's not unusual at all. Everybody has a different way of thinking, and everybody has a different perspective of the world.
No you just like the song and are using to imagination to associating them with visual and auditory stuff.
I don't remember what it is called, but it is a rare phenomenon. Think of it as an unusual gift.
Synaesthesia is the mixing of the senses. Those affected by it hear colors, see sounds, and taste tactile sensations. When the two senses involved are sound and color, this phenomenon is no longer limited to synaesthetes: anyone, given a sound and time for contemplation, can ascribe color to that sound. Oftentimes, these choices will overlap from person to person
I've heard of what you are talking about, but it's not a bad thing. I know people with Aspurger's Syndrome associate colors with numbers...
Nah. Sounds kind of obsessive compulsive disorderly to me though. Maybe you should go get that checked by a psychiatrist. Or it could just be a phase.
My little brother has that. He is only ten years old, too. Everybody's brain works different, and you must be a very creative person (my little brother is) Even with people's names he thinks of colors. Also, when he hears certain words like for example the word "thought" he thinks of an object. It's just how his brain works. I think it's really cool. It's nothing to be ashamed of!
