How can I have better dreams and sleep better?
Answer:
i have the same problem - really, it's not as uncommon as you might think.
try writing before you go to bed, it helps to organize your thoughts and settle your brain. that way, your brain doesn't take everything you've seen/heard/thought about that day and turn it into a jumble of a memory that turns into a weird dream.
If you are not taking drugs, try pleasant music aroma therapy, and meditation, if that doesn't help, something is very wrong, see a therapist.
Try daydreaming about what you want to dream about while you're trying to fall asleep. Sometimes that works for me.
I'm not sure if/how you can change what you're dreaming about directly. But I have suggestions for sleeping better, just in case you don't do these things already. =)
1.) Set a routine. Go to bed at (roughly) the same time every night. You could also do something relaxing right before you go to bed every night to alert your body that you are ready to rest. For example, read for half an hour before sleeping every night, or have a glass of warm milk before bed every night.
2.) Try not to eat within the 2-3 hours before you go to sleep.
3.) No caffeine at night!
4.) Eat properly nutrition-wise and get some excercise every day.
5.) Try to eliminate as much stress from your day as possible. Don't get worked up over small issues. Find a way to vent your frustration over bigger issues (excercise, talking to a friend, etc.).
If all else fails and you're still having bad dreams, try seeing a therapist. They can help you pinpoint what exactly is going wrong in your subconscious (that is, if you believe that dreams are a product of the subconscious mind... if you don't believe that, then I hope I'm not offending you or anything).
Good luck! =)
Hi Spider King,
Don't eat before bed especially cheese. And while you're in bed b 4 U fall asleep, concentrate on the most pleasant things u'd like to dream about. Maybe a fantasy, or what a perfect date with a girl would be like, where would u take her,
what would yous do, a dinner, what would u have, take her home, she asks u upstairs for a coffee, then what would u like
to do from there? Always think pleasant, positive, thoughts, fantasy's during then, helps me?
"All the Best"
LOL, Diana D
